Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does it cost anything to contact Yaupon Berry Press for a quote?
A: No, it doesn't cost anything. We also offer free, initial consultations (video or in-person) for potential clients. Don’t hesitate to contact me to see if our services would be a good fit for your needs.
Q: After I receive a quote and decide to hire Yaupon Berry Press, will it cost more if it takes you longer to complete the project?
A: Our prices are guaranteed. Once an agreement is met, we will not charge more than what was agreed upon.
Q: Can I hire Yaupon Berry Press to write (instead of edit) for my company’s blog, website or newsletter?
A: Yes, but we will need to know as much about your company (or the subject) as possible, which will require a conference so that we can better understand what we'll be writing about.
Q: When will Yaupon Berry Press require payment, and how do I pay you?
A: We will invoice you once the project is completed. You’ll be able to pay us online or by check.
Q: How does the process work?
A: Once you contact us, we’ll discuss what type of service you need. As soon as I receive the material to work on, I’ll give you an estimated time to expect completion of the project. We require clients to be available by email or phone, if we have questions throughout the process.
Q: What format is acceptable to send you?
A: If you’re an author who needs me to edit your manuscript, I’ll use Word to edit and use “track changes.” *I charge $50 more if I have to edit your manuscript in Google Docs.
A: If you’re a small business and need us to edit postcards and such, the format varies. It’s easier for us to edit in Word, but if you send a JPEG or PDF, we'll copy/paste the material into Word and then email you back a PDF of necessary changes. Basically, whatever format you have, we’ll figure a way to make it work. We've also edited in WordPress, directly changing the copy on the client’s website.
Q: What style do you use to edit?
A: For manuscripts, we use The Chicago Manual of Style.
A: For most other formats, we use the AP Style. If your company has a personal style guide, we’ll use that as well.
